It’s Child Passenger Safety Week!

Hi friends,
September is the month we wait for all year. It is Child Passenger Safety Week across the country from the 20th through the 26th, and it wraps up with National Seat Check Saturday. That same day, we are throwing open the doors at Mashpee Fire for a free community car seat check, and I would love to see you there.
Whether your seats are brand new or you have installed a dozen of them, a second set of certified eyes never hurts. Come say hi.

Bring your car seat and your questions. Our certified child passenger safety technicians will check your install, fix anything that needs fixing, and show you how, so you can do it with confidence every time. Families who need a seat can leave with a brand-new one, free of charge.
Walk-ins welcome all day.
Why a check matters
Car seats are wonderful and, honestly, complicated. Most are used with at least one small error, and almost no parent realizes it, because these seats are not intuitive. That is not on you. It is exactly what we are here for.
Three things you can check right now:
✅ The pinch test. Buckle your child, then pinch the harness at the shoulder. If you can grab a fold of webbing, tighten it up.
✅ The chest clip. It should sit flat and level with your child's armpits, not up on the neck or down on the belly.
✅ Rear-facing longer. Keep your child rear-facing as long as your seat allows. It is dramatically safer for little bodies.
